A quick look at Bourbon Street, New Orleans

A beautiful place to stay in New Orleans is the French Quarter, where the biggest attraction is Bourbon Street, which lives up to its name respectively as the party center of the South.

At night the street turns into a big party where roads are blocked off and there’s someone at every door enticing you into their pub, karaoke bar or some other drinking establishment. Whether its big mugs full of beer, or hurricane’s (popular mixed drink) that are quenching your thirst, you’re bound to find it on Bourbon Street at a cheap price with some live music to keep you drinking and dancing all night.

If you’re a young person traveling New Orleans is a great stop on the map. If you’re in a group Bourbon Street is the perfect place to go on a pub crawl, but make sure you don’t venture the streets alone. New Orleans is a large city with lots of issues with violence; it’s always safe to keep a bit of cash for a taxi if you find yourself lost and remember to always stick to the main streets.

During the day music can still be heard through the cafés and restaurants. Musicians make a living out of your donation so if you enjoy what they play or dance, it’s good to leave a small donation to show your appreciation.
